Top 5 iOS Navigation Apps in Latin America - Q1 2021 Performance

Navigating through the first quarter of 2021, the performance of iOS navigation and maps applications in Latin America showed varied trends in downloads and weekly active users. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a snapshot of how these top apps fared during this period.

Google Maps maintained its position as a leading navigation tool. Although it generated no revenue, the app saw downloads fluctuate around the 160K mark, with a peak of 169K in mid-January and a slight drop to around 147K by the end of March. Weekly active users started strong at 13.6M but experienced a gradual decrease, settling at 12.3M at the quarter's close.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, another popular choice, also reported no revenue. Its downloads saw a downward trend from 95K at the end of December to 70K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users declined from 6.5M to 5M in the same period.

When it comes to exploring the globe, Google Earth experienced an interesting uptick in downloads, starting at 19K and peaking at 24K in late January before settling back to around 19K. Active users showed more stability, hovering around 140K throughout the quarter, ending slightly higher at 148K.

Google Street View witnessed modest download numbers that ranged between 3.5K and 4.4K, with weekly active users seeing minimal fluctuation, remaining close to the 4.6K mark for most of the quarter.

Lastly, MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav showed a small but consistent revenue stream, with the highest at $260 in late February. Downloads for MAPS.ME remained steady, ranging between 2K and 2.3K. Weekly active users stayed within the 14K-15K range, showing a slight decline towards the end of the quarter.
